Wanaka Challenge Practice Swim

While going to get petrol first thing this morning, I passed the lake front where there were 100's of cars parked. What is going on here I thought! I found out that it was the practice swim for the Wanaka Challenge, which is being held on Saturday. This event is huge, with 1,500 competitors taking part, they come from all corners of the world. The race is a 3.8k swim, 180k bike ride and a 42.2 run!!

BUT, I won't be here to see the race because I am heading to Gisborne to a wedding being held on Saturday. The first leg of my journey starts in a couple of hours, my first stop, Twizel.
