Look at those talons!

Found at the side of the lane on our morning stroll, this ex-sparrowhawk. I thought it a bit grim to show the whole corpse.

I wasn't sure what to do with it or even if one had to report finding a dead bird of prey, so I phoned the local RSPB office for advice. It was suggested that the bird could be left where it was and "something else would find it", but I was worried about the cats - specifically Leo - finding it, so the advice was to throw it in the brown bin. What an ending!

Feeling quite despondent at the result of the general election.
