Janet

I am, as you can imagine, slightly distracted on a number of fronts, and photography isn't at the forefront of my day. I know, we are all diverted at the moment, to one level or another. We all need something to smile at, and since I can't give you a fat Johnson hanging from a gibbet let me make you smile with a shot of Janet.

Her kidney function is still worryingly low, but she is surrounded by competent people who are not panicking over it. They've fixed more beat up bangers than this one, and they'll have her back on the road very soon. Or by the end of this decade at least... She was very poorly indeed earlier today, but as you can see she doesn't stay down for long.

It does make one treasure the NHS, and ponder over why so many people chose to put it in jeopardy yesterday.

We even overheard a couple of NHS workers last night, declaring they wouldn't be voting for 'Corbyn the terrorist'. They've no evidence for the assertion beyond the rubbish the billionaire newspaper owners have fed them, but they are convinced. As convinced no doubt as they were and are about Brexit.

The whole country made decisions about their futures and their children and grandchildren's futures based on the lies told by the elite who own and control the media - even the publicly owned BBC, who were clearly so frightened for the future of the licence fee they'd do almost anything.

For those of us of a certain age. We survived Thatcher. Or most of us did. This is likely to go the same way. Look out for those who are vulnerable. Hold those who need a hug, feed those who need a soup. Watch out for sleight of hand cuts to public services and 'top-up' calls for your National Insurance.

Be excellent to everyone. Even them.
