Artist at work

Day one to Ang and Leila in the battle with the Ko Tao mosquitoes, no new bites waking us up this morning. So, feeling rather childishly pleased about that, we went for our days snorkelling around outlying islands and coves. Entertainment was provided by the crew who not only conjured up beautiful sand sculptures and magical bubble rings under the water with their hands, they also had special turtle spotting powers. We had the absolute joy of watching turtles! It was one of the top moments of my life, I think because there was a sense of something so ancient having passed by you. It was completely transfixing and would have followed it out into the big blue had the guy not pulled my ankle and steered me back to the boat.
Got back to the hotel just in time for one of, if not the best, sunsets I have ever seen. Today is definitely up there as one of those days that will stay in the best of the best memory collection.
