Blocking the brightness of the sun

This evening we were joined by daughters and grandsons for a meal. On the deck. Unable to put up the umbrella properly, as the base was damaged, and we have to take it back and get a replacement. Following S' suggestion, we used a couple of bags of container mix to stabiliser the foot of the the umbrella, while leaning it into the corner of the new balustrade. Worked very well.
