Blue Heron

I love photographing Blue Herons......they sit so still and stay in the same spot for awhile unlike most of the song birds.  I often see blue herons along the roads in areas where there is water.......and Oregon has lots of wetlands this time of year. This one was sitting near a river.

Today I went to that cookie exchange I told you about the other day. It was great fun visiting with neighbors; we have resolved to get together more often,  perhaps for lunch. Most of us are retired or barely working, so it should work out. I'm looking forward to it. AND I came home with three dozen cookies......12 different kinds.....fun. I hope they stay in the freezer until we have our family gathering.
