"Two day old" new running shoes

Bought some new shoes on Saturday after wrecking my old pair by playing football in them. Two days later and a run around Arthur's seat then another around Blackford Hill and they're already looking tired.
Turns out they don't have perfect grip either as I found out when I fell over in the mud trying to cut through the gorse bushes..
