The Simplicity of Sepia Tones

I've been waiting for an opportunity to take a photograph of this magnificent tree that stands in the middle of a field in the Rhône Valley. No farmer saw me as I nipped over the fence. The tree's great age seemed well suited to sepia colour with a bit of a halo in the hole in the cloud above it on this particularly dull day.

This the "real" tree. Both wanted to be published equally!

When I got home this afternoon, my husband was saying something about winning a photographic competition. I told him to put the e-mail in the trash, it was probably spam. Apparently it wasn't, yesterday's blip had won The Calumet Photo of the Week. I still can't believe it! So thank you for all the supportive comments that you gave for the foggy sunset in the forest which also hit the Spotlight Page.
