The bench wore white

24 years ago today i was a 21 year old bride. I remember everything from that day, the breakfast in bed brought to me by my mum and dad, At the hairdressers getting my head-piece put in perfectly. Home again to the realisation that i was wearing a tight necked jumper which could only come off over my newly done hair! Then trying to get dressed wearing false nails - needed help from my bridesmaid for that job. My dad being more nervous than me. My new husband standing on my dress during the kneeling bit of the ceremony so i stumbled when we stood up. Then the howling gale and lashing rain that made the short trip to the car a cold one in a wedding dress! Our reception at The Mill of Tynet which was a favourite place of mine. Then off to Lossiemouth for our wedding night with trees blocking the roads but luckily not the railway as we took the train to Aberdeen and our new home, Happy Anniversary Graeme! It's our Silver next year what shall we do to celebrate that one?
