...the Story Bridge is the place to be in 'Brisvegas'.
Originally constructed 1934 -1940s by the Queensland government to provide relief work during the depression and known as Brisbane City Wharves, undertaken at the same time as construction of the Story Bridge under which it sits.
Leased to Howard Smith an Australian coastal shipping company it was then referred to as Howard Smith Wharves.
From the 1960s it was a vacant site...but no more!
The Fantauzzo, an Art Series Hotel (cool loos !`extra) is here and growing like topsy at the speed of tropical vegetation are restaurants, popups and green spaces backdropped by the kangaroo point cliffs and a stones throw to the river.
