Beach Business

Managed onto Copacabana beach late this afternoon, day 1, instead of sometime in week 3! Very relaxing to sit and people watch for a while. Breakfast in the flat, wandered round the barrio to see any changes and lunch of feijoada in 'the triangle place', then a wee while on the beach and home for a siesta. Our bodies have caught up with us and so we're now having a night in. A few changes noted: new Portuguese wine bar restaurant up the top of the street that we'll be trying, closure of the ice-cream place just round from the flat that Briocarioca introduced us to and which became a favourite last year, and shock horror the disappearance of the Brito handicraft shop in the Antiquarius market, where we've bought lots of things over the years which have been sent all over the world as pressies and from where I’ve bought some of my favourite bags. Sad disappearance!
