On the way to U7’s Football

A good night’s sleep. Some early morning mischief with the Christmas Elf. This year he has a penchant for Potter - Harry Potter! There seems to be no limit to the book themed fun Elf engages in!

Fyfe had football this morning and his father, newly qualified as an FA coach, was in charge. It was meant to be a local derby but the opposition from a neighbouring village cancelled at short notice.

Back to the house for more games and a lovely lunch before the family took me to the train home. It turned out, by chance, to be the last day of the Virgin Trains franchise. They have been operating this route since 1997!

The train was on time and more remarkably the Brunstane Flyer was waiting to depart from an adjacent platform. Great to be home. Great to have been made so welcome too by the Gloucestershire family!
