Sunshine and showers

The morning was spent working hard on a report that I needed to submit today, and by the time I was free the skies had darkened and it was raining quite heavily. A short-lived spell of low sunshine turned all the droplets on the kitchen windows into fairy lights (with a more subtle abstract in extras)

Alex and I braved the rain to go and buy our Christmas tree at the local farm shop, and this evening we've all had a jolly time dressing it, helped by lots of Christmas music and some cherry brandy. Tomorrow we're having our first Christmas Day, as Chris and Lizzy will be away for the 25th December. I'm suddenly feeling surprisingly festive!
