Edge of the sea
Ruddy turnstones on basalt rock lift as waves wash in, settle down again to turn stone in search of sustenance. Soft layered sky above a roiling sea. Blown beach grasses, driftwood. Foam as white as fresh linen and the wind blowing out to sea. Horses manes on troughs of long curling waves washing against an ancient shore. And here we are to bear witness, bringing the strife of human struggle into focus.
