Every tree counts

Another hundred or so saplings planted out on an old allotment in Staveley, where they will grow until re-planted in a new woodland in 2020. Saplings of mixed species from the Woodland Trust, old tree-guards from the Friends of the Lake District, and spare Herdwick fleeces put down around the base to reduce competition from grass growth, courtesy of a local farmer.
