Afloat

It must be close to Christmas -
there's a bauble on a boat.
Perhaps they hope that Santa
will attract the floating vote

as sooner still than Christmas
an election day is set,
and if we only vote for turkeys
then a turkey we will get.

I'm sick of stuffin' turkeys,
but I've found the antidote:
Santa keeps his promises
so he will win my vote.

When I took this photo (and the wider view in my Extra that shows the boat in the context of the River Dart) I saw that row of white houses as smoke rising in the misty, low sunshine. If you squint, you might see what I perceived.
