2 interesting facts......
........I learned today (all will be revealed)
Another interesting day at the charity today - amongst other gifts donated were dog food, lasagne sheets and Christmas decorations . I suspect that some people are confused and food items are mistakenly placed in our gift boxes rather than a food bank collection box but we do get some odd things donated.
The volunteers worked hard again and we managed to complete a large number of applications including one for a local church minister in a particularly deprived area of Edinburgh. He duly arrived to collect his gifts for distribution and feared he would only be able to take half his order as he was concerned his car wasn’t large enough - well after a bit of Jenga he was able to take all of his gifts. I complimented him on his jenga skills and he asked if I knew that the origin of the word jenga was from a Swahili word meaning ‘to build’ - fact number 1.
One of the volunteers asked if we could gift a slow cooker book and I suggested perhaps not the best of gifts - on flicking through the book (which had a large number of interesting recipes), I came across one which needed the meat to be marinated in soy sauce and the information that dark soy sauce is less salty than light - fact number 2.
Came across the doll in the blip and thought it was wonderful - love the idea of Barbie being a bee-keeper!!
Home in time to put on some washing and sort out the dishwasher before going out for a curry!
