Crossing the canal

This morning the birdwatching group went to the canal and reserve at Queen's Head.  Only two of us turned up so it was hardly a group!  Perhaps the frost put people off.

When we got to the reserve contractors were cutting down lots of undergrowth and trees also weeds and plants were being removed from the pools.  Apparently the pools are going to be dredged so I hope that the frogs and insect larvae won't be harmed.

We walked around but although we could hear birdsong they were in hiding although a buzzard had got it's eye on the newly cleared ground - I expect there were small mammels being disturbed.
