Syria

After a terrible day of school we had an impromptu visit to the Syrian camp. Wonderfully we were let in by the security services then we had an amazing visit. So many good things. It was really emotional getting to speak to my friend's sisters in Aleppo, by video call. They took us out onto their balcony and showed us the shocking destruction around them: buildings destroyed by bombs, people walking under the debris which falls down and causes injuries. Yet these two ladies were so cheerful and friendly throughout the call. Amazing resilience. But terrible situation in Syria.
