C and his mom brought it back for me from a  boot sale years ago when I was studying for exams and they went (boot) sailing to give me some quite to revise. 

One has to wonder whose it was. Why was it bought? Was it for a special occasion or to go with a specific outfit? Was the style in fashion at the time or did a celeb wore something expensive with a similar shape? Did it just jump on a passer-by and she/he had t have it?
