The Place to Shag

There are two primary shagging (dance) clubs in North Myrtle Beach and Fat Harold's is one of them.  The namesake of the club, Harold Bessent, is buried in our church cemetery.  His tombstone has reference to his central role in The Shag, a dance familiar to many who come to the beach for special weekends. His tombstone also a pair of shagging shoes carved into the granite.  The extra photo is a decoration that flashes off and on more frequently than once per second.  The ocean is about 75 - 100 feet directly behind this pretend Christmas tree.
