Keep your coats on!!

Was the cry as we dropped the kids off at school this morning..
No snow here, just lots of rain. The heating at school had stopped working though. "The engineer has been called.." was the official line.
We got a text at lunchtime asking us to collect our kids immediately. The heating had been mended but then the power went off, and later they got it back on, then it went off again... you get the idea. They called time after most of the morning working in the dark, grey light of a winter day whilst wearing their coats as then the toilets all appeared to be blocked up and not working as well. Never rains it pours etc.
It's all back on now though apparently so back to school tomorrow.
The kids have watched tv and played on Club Penguin, Little walked (and bathed) the dog with me and then we broke out a bath bomb making kit that Little got for Christmas.
Apparently Mr KP has the day off work too. Haven't seen him much.. gym, work (yes, I did say day off a minute ago, go figure..) and the rest of the afternoon upstairs filing paperwork and contemplating his tax return.
As a result I haven't done much that I intended to do today.. I'd been steering clear of the kitchen this morning because there was supposed to be some cupboard fixing going on and I didn't want to get in the way. Hmm..

I must stop wittering and go and make the kids some tea. Brownies is still happening tonight even though school didn't!

ps - So happy to be a non working mum today - no real disruption to my day at all and none of the panic attack, loss of earnings and work guilt that I would have suffered before.
