End of Christmas
Despite the Christmas decorations and lights having been up everywhere in France far longer than in England, I guess January 12th means the end of Christmas, as we saw this man dragging his poor ole Christmas tree to its death, on the way to the station. Went sales-shopping at Saint Lazare (which I continued on my way back home too, such good sales!) before heading towards the Gare du Nord area to be safe. Had a big three-course lunch at a restaurant a couple of minutes from the station (steak-frites for lunch! This is the life.) and John caught his Eurostar which left at 3. Got home after shopping and didn't do a lot apart from watch TV and skype Marmaduke whilst using an online-random-country selector to decide where we can travel to in our 6 months off for summer. American Samoa, apparently. Google mapped it and I'm pretty sure it must win the award for most random and difficult-to-get-to place ever in the history of the world. Thanks internet.
