Happy Birthday, Ni!

my niece, Ni, turned 9 this coming Tuesday, but she's having a birthday party today. they didn't tell me until yesterday. she's the one in green. oh, at home we call her Ni, but at school, she's Nguyen. the "Happy Birthday, Nguyen" on the board was drawn by her ^^

after the morning class was over, i helped with peeling onion, mushroom, crab meat, chicken, set out the table, drew a cake on the board, and made sure no ghost is around when Ni showering.

4pm hit and Ni was starting to get worried that no one is showing up. 4:20 came and one boy showed up. Ni's "Someone came!" was probably the happiest note she's been all day.

a party with seven 9-years old running around was as loud as you would imagine. i wonder if it made any difference if four of those kids didn't have energy drink as their beverage. yes, someone thought it was a great idea to give kids energy drink to wash down their food.

after the presents opening, they all join in for karaoke, singing songs about love, romance and other things they're too young to understand. i had to rack my brain to remember songs i know as a child but not so childish that it's uncool because they did turned down those childish songs. i found a few that sparked their interest and they asked for those songs on repeat.
