A pile of old stones?

These may look like just an old pile of stones, but actually may be 1000 years old. They are part of the walls of an old water mill recently discovered in my area, which may have been constructed in teh 13th century. Dating of the artefacts found is continuing. Whilst photographing the site I found myself wondering about the people who had lived, worked and died making flour for their community in and around the area. What would they have thought of the world we live in today?
