The rocks and the sand
5.1C with rain first thing then brightening. Blue sky by midday then clouding over slowly again.
A tractor drove up and down the country roads most of the morning. Ripping the hedges to pieces Trimming the hedges with a large machine on a mechanical arm. The Hawthorn and Beech look passable but the other type of tree (I don't know what species it is) within the hedge suffers. Big chunks torn out of the trunks. They always look awful after they are cut. For weeks. But thankfully they recover.
Maeve the Deerhound and I are still not walking down the field. Everywhere is still very wet and there is water on the surface of most of the fields. After lunch we went straight down the road to the shore and walked along the cycle path to the level crossing. The six sheep are still in the little field beside the railway line. I think they are Rams. They have a confident air about them.
The tide was out a fair bit so there was lots of good sand for walking. Nice and bright too, so I got some seascape shots.
We passed the two people who always look sad or miserable and their very jolly little Spaniel.
Nobody at the Fishermen's huts or in the gardens at the cottages.
I have booked a self catering cottage for a week in May. In Cowal, Argyll's secret coast. Maeve is coming too :-)
