Useful phrases ...

I am gradually getting the hang of Duolingo and feel I am making progress with Gaelic, especially since I discovered that you can go back and revisit lessons. 

I also finds it helps my learning to write down new phrases/words, although some are more useful than others. 

However I would agree  with (tha sgadan blasta) and indeed bought some sgadan picilte when we went to IKEA today.
