Rainy Day

I know many of my Blipfoto friends in Britain are heartily sick of rain and ready for a sunny spell, but we are delighted to see the rain put an end to fire season. Now if only the predicted winds don't blow down the power lines....

It was just starting to rain when we got back to the lot behind our house with its sentinel tree* and sprinted down the path to the house. I did the usual pre-rain things like taking in cushions and covering porch furniture a bit after the fact We're out of practice....

We have had a lovely quiet day in front of the fire and the television watching football and diving into the fridge for Thanksgiving leftovers Thanksgiving leftovers with Dana and Jim and the boys. The boys are not so excited about driving through the rain back to their respective schools tomorrow, but I think their mother and grandmother are more worried about it than they are....

Blake didn't want to leave when they took off to go to a movie, so he's staying here for dinner. Hopefully he hasn't helped himself....
