St Andrew’s Day.
Photo taken mid afternoon on my way to collect something from a shop. Minus temperatures all day. I was wrapped up well when oot n aboot and the pavements in town were gritted. No complaints.
Looked like we’d bit of a St Andrew’s Day bonus today! Then things changed. Our older son discovered mid-week he could get into a rugby game free today as the Patron Saint is his namesake (bring id the advert said!). So we arranged to go today to see our family team play rugby at 200pm in Edinburgh in the FOSROC Super 6. The Club had two teams travelling, the Super 6 team plus the next league down squad. Our younger son’s team was coincidentally scheduled to play an away match a mile along the road. But with temperature at -5.4c at 930am.... I knew things looked unlikely. The younger son’s game was cancelled at 1000am. Then our second squad game was dropped at 1140am and we were left with the “do we go or not” situation for the Super 6. Finally it was called off at noon. A lot of wasted time this morning, phoning one another, checking social media etc. The brothers made the most of the change of plans though, they watched football on the TV at the younger one’s place.
My wife was singing in her choir this morning; Christmas Fayre at a local Maggie’s Centre (cancer support charity).
