Carrying on from where we left off on our walk yesterday on the Springwater Corridor, we followed the route down to the Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge and saw these three deer, blending beautifully into their surroundings. Unintentionally interrupting their grazing, we stood and watched them watching us for a short while. At the Oaks Bottom wetlands there were lots of blue herons, too far off for my camera to photograph. To complete the day, while en route home in the car close to the Ross Island bridge, a bird of prey (possibly a peregrine falcon, they nest under some of the bridges) came swooping low and fast over the car with its kill in its claws. It was really quite something.
Probably best seen in large. I'm no wildlife photographer so this was the closest I got.
