The Enchanted Forest

Alan's taken a couple of days off work today and tomorrow, so he's driven me up North for a few days with the family.  The boys have stayed at home with the doggy sitter, so they'll be well looked after.

We left Brighton in the sunshine (for a change), but as we drove North we hit the rain.  We arrived at mum's at about 4.30pm and were back in the car at 5.15pm to go to a National Trust event  'Christmas at Dunham Massey', but before that we went to a Gastropub in the village of Dunham Massey for an early dinner, which was delicious.

We went over to the National Trust property at 7.30pm, and as it was dark, we hired a wheelchair and Alan pushed mum around the trail.  It was a wonderful light and sound show with illuminations on the outside of the house and in the trees (see my extras), and even Santa made an appearance!  It's a shame that Rachel, Scott and the girls couldn't join us, but the early tickets had all sold out and as it was a school night Rach thought it was a bit late for the girls - we'll just have to do it again next year!

Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends, hope you've had a wonderful day celebrating.
