Death of a Tree

Today we went for a walk round the village with a bunch of locals. The light was fantastic and the company very nice, but it's not quite as easy to photograph as when you are on your own, so not as many good pictures as I would like.

This shot if of a dead or dying tree, it's covered in fungal bodies such as these, and lots of exit holes from beetle larvae. It was also leaning at a wonky angle and was clearly worse for wear. It's all part of the "circle of life" as Disney would say.
