1860. SOOC....
Had a quiet day at home today but it hasn't been without activity....made a delicious Chicken Balti with rice for lunch and a batch of soup using a recipe I've never tried before....turnip and smoked ham....and it's awesome!
Just sitting here sorting out a few photos...my iCloud photos had gotten a bit muddled and there were so many images that it's hard to find anything properly. I try and keep only my favourite images there...ones that I like to look at occasionally. I had over 600 photos which is far too many so I've backed them all up and have deleted over half of them but it took ages to painstakingly check that I wasn't deleting any I didn't have backed up...but it's done. As I haven't been outside today I thought I'd do an indoor shot of some jewellery (always a favourite!) so I chose a brooch I've blipped many times before but I do love it. And I'm so pleased to say this is completely unedited, straight out of the camera ...I didn't even have to straighten it this time....so chuffed with how it turned out.
In the middle of sorting out all of my photos my FitBit decided to have a meltdown, showing a huge red sign on it saying "Clockface Error"...no idea what it means but I've restarted it and it all seems to have started working again...me and technology are definitely not getting on at the moment. Mind you my newest DVD player has arrived and is currently being charged up...let's hope it works ok or I think I'll give up!
Some of you may recall me writing that I managed to break the clasp on my previous Czech garnet brooch which we were told when my hubby bought it, was base metal. I took it to my usual jeweller and asked them if they could perhaps attach a bale so that I could use it as a pendant. They told me they could and yesterday I got a phone call to say that they had made a bale for it and could I pop in and check that it was ok before they sent it away to be lasered as it cannot be gold soldered. When I went in they told me that the brooch was in fact gold and that they had managed to find some "old" rose gold to make the bale from as they realised that the brooch was indeed late 19th century and that the garnets were particularly good. Needless to say I was delighted with this so it's now away being repaired and I'll blip an image of it as soon as I get it back...so pleased!
