Wow! I never knew that!
You can clearly see serrations under the top half of this Tern's beak, I didn't realise they had them.
This one was eating the left over crusts from our lunchtime sandwiches at the Humber Ferry terminal riverside car park.
No doubt they come in very handy if your diet is mainly slippery worms, crustaceans and small fish.
