Cookies & Chopsticks
Some 65 years ago, when I was about 10 or 11 years old, I learned to use chopsticks.
My friend Bruce lived in Chicago and would come to Ada to visit his Grandmother and Aunt Mary for a few weeks in the summertime. Bruce and I played together around our neighborhood while he was visiting.
Some of their family had been Missionaries in China, and had been killed by Chinese Bandits. Many oriental gifts and souvenirs were to be found in their house.
Aunt Mary would make sugar cookies and taught us to eat them using chopsticks. In the afternoon we would practice eating sugar cookies on their screened-in side porch. It was a pleasant way to pass a nice summer afternoon.
I still like sugar cookies and, yes, ate this photo setup using these chopsticks.
