Rainbow.....with a surprise

...........I was on my way home from photo group thinking what bizarre weather we were having ( drizzle then rain then sunshine then drizzle and sometimes a bit of everything), when I spotted a really strong rainbow in the field next to me. Fortunately the country road was quiet so I was able to pull into a nearby gateway. I was annoyed to find I had forgotten to put my compact in my bag, grrrrrr, so this was taken with my ancient mobile phone, hence the poor picture quality. Initially I tried to take the photos from inside the car with the window open because it was raining and very muddy in the gateway but the results were awful so I hopped out of the car and picked my way through the mud to the edge of the field. I then became aware of several dogs running way over on the far side of the field........several very quickly became a very large pack ( 20 plus) of baying hunt hounds presumably out for some exercise as no horses followed.
I watched for a few seconds as they disappeared into the left hand corner of the field and thought they had gone into the woods in the distance when I became aware that the baying was getting louder ...... VERY QUICKLY!!! ....I suddenly realised to my horror that even though I couldn't see them they were tearing down the inside of the hedge towards me .......at warp speed!!!
I turned tail and headed back to the car as quickly as my achy legs could carry me and only just made it into the car, I was just shutting the door as the pack appeared and surrounded my car all baying and jumping up looking in the windows ........it gave me quite a fright and I was very relieved I wasn't just out walking as they didn't appear to be supervised at that point.
After a couple of minutes they got bored and shot off inside the field and continued to run, baying all the time and I sat for a few minutes to compose myself. Just as I was about to leave I saw two people crossing the field in pursuit of the hounds, so I'm not sure if they were ' with ' them or not and to be honest I didn't care, I just wanted to get myself home ..........the things I do to get a blip!! ;-)))
