Slurry

At the bottom of the frame you can see the red stain on the wall along the freeway. As firestorms raged across Southern California last month, much attention has been drawn to the bright red  slurry that’s dropped from planes in an effort to slow the fire’s spread. Chemical fire retardant can be an important firefighting tool. But it can also have a bad ecological impacts if it gets in ponds, lakes or rivers.  The pilots do the best they can, but accuracy is tough when you are flying through smoke at 150-mph.
