Cape Brett Lighthouse

Our last few days in New Zealand, and we are in the Bay of Islands.

We took the small ferry over from Paihia to Russell in the morning and then a tour of the bay in the afternoon.   My blip shows the Cape Brett lighthouse and what was the lighthouse keeper's house until the light was automated.  The house can now be rented for not a great deal ... although access might be more of a difficulty :-)

26C here with light winds ... we're not overly keen on returning to the winter in England!

Having to choose my moment for uploading as the hotel WiFi slows down in the evening.  OK for reading the news etc but not uploading to blip.

Thanks to everyone who has visited my journal recently - for some reason I can read and respond to comments on my mobile (albeit slowly) but uploading new blips is quite fraught so I'll probably leave the rest until we are back in the UK at the weekend.
