"Meesie" Mural by Sidney Waerts
20X21EUGMural Project intends to create 20, or more, world class murals by 2021. One of the newest seemed to appear overnight in July this year.
"Named Meesie after his daughter, Waerts’ mural is supposed to be viewed right to left. The bird on the right side of the mural comes like a “broken down city, with bridges and poles on the water.” The left side with the child fishing is about new hope and prosperity in a world affected by climate change. Painted in two colors, this monochromatic mural is the artist’s third large-scale mural. His fourth is a 20×21 EUG Mural Project bonus mural on the back of the building at 856 Willamette St."
