Wild
It is wet and windy and there is scant visibility - not at all pleasant, but the tide is in and the waves are wild and fabulous.
It seemed like a good idea at the time - I wanted to go to lectures in Newcastle this morning and tomorrow afternoon, so we would stay overnight by the sea. And, in the Premier Inn at Whitley Bay, we are definitely right by the sea. What we haven’t got is the weather for all the wandering by the sea we thought we might be able to do. But never mind, we’ve had a great, wild walk along the front, watching the waves . . . and it might be better in the morning.
A superb session this morning about Rock Art, given by a real expert in the field. She focused on examples in Northumberland and Cumbria - some I had seen, some I didn’t even know about. Lots of fascinating research information and plenty of ideas to think about. Excellent.
