On top of the hill

It’s hard to describe the difference in conditions at the top of the hill to the bottom. We were bathed in warm sunshine and clear blue skies whilst the bottom of the hill was covered in a thick, cold Haar. It was not quite like this all day as the Haar did reach us and the horses disappeared from sight, just their ghostly shadows showing.
Got a few jobs done in the garden.Swept up a lot of leaves and pulled up some of the remaining summer bedding.
Mike collected the car which had been to the garage. The power steering had gone on the way home the other day because of a leak in one of the pipes so they have both been replaced. That’s now solved but there’s a clunking noise coming from the back so it’s going in again on Friday.
We went for a drive to see if we could work out where it was coming from but you can only here it when you go over a bump. The Haar disappeared as we left Rosemarkie.
Stopped at the hide and think I saw the Kingfisher zoom past. Also had a very quick glimpse of a fox in the field this morning. Was naughty and had a hot chocolate and doughnut in Cromarty.
My poor mum had a wasted journey into town. They had given my Dad just two of the tablets he needs and a prescription for more so my Mum left my Dad in bed, walked the two miles ( it’s all down hill but quite a way to go ) to get to the chemist who told her that they had to be collected from the pharmacy at the hospital which is an hour away by bus . Fortunately my Auntie will go and get them :)
Then she needed to make an appointment at the Doctors for two weeks time, no point in phoning as you can never get through, but told it was too early to book an appointment for two weeks ahead !
She was glad to get back home and hopefully things will be more settled now as they are both exhausted.
