Mono Monday. : : Beauty

Beauty was definitely a delicious latte with a design in the shape of a turkey on top! Danielle, the best barista ever, made  it for me this morning and graciously agreed to pose for me with it when I told her it was a true work of art. How lucky we are to have such a wonderful gathering place....

The electrician and his sidekick his been on top of our garage all day installing the inverter for the solar panels. It's all working now except that it isn't. It will probably be January before PG&E inspects the solar array 'for our protection' and give the okay for it to start generating power. Which will all go back to them...at least I don't think they will have the nerve to charge us for it, but that remains to be seen.

I really am tired of hearing  PG&E tell us that they are turning off the power and leaving us without light, heat or water, and even withholding our ability to start generating our own 'for our safety'. The translation of that is so that their own equipment doesn't start catastrophic fires.

Rain, 'heavy at times' is predicted for tomorrow and Wednesday. That is not a phrase that normally brings joy to my heart, but right now it does. It means the end of fire season and presumably the end of power shutoffs and fire threats until next October, or whenever it stops raining and everything dries out enough to be a hazard when the wind blows. By then, it is to be hoped that we have come up with a solution to dependency on PG&E. So far that is proving difficult and expensive but not impossible .

The city of Santa Rosa or Sonoma County has decreed that all new homes must be all electric. This makes sense in light of climate change, but it doesn't make sense when the electricity is being provided (or withheld) by a bankrupt, unreliable company. I suspect many exceptions will be made. It seems that climate change is moving faster than the city or county bureaucracies.
