Pear New Mill

Today I was at the site office for my project in Bredbury. The cabins are in a National Grid substation next to this building which was once an Edwardian cotton mill. It is now a rather grandiose setting for a collection of shops and outlets. The project will replace a few km of buried oil cooled cables running through Stockport. It's not the most inspiring sounding project but I've learnt a lot about HV power!
