Mono Monday : Beauty

It seems to me that one of the things that makes me feel despondent in autumn is that there aren’t many flowers around.
The supermarket trip today started with a visit to the flower stall, where the beautiful colours certainly lift the spirits. I remembered a song from years ago, sung by Dorothy Squires I think, whose first line was, “ When you want to say I love you, say it with flowers “.
It doesn’t sound quite the same rewritten “ say it with cabbages “ but that’s what these are, ornamental cabbages, and beautiful ones too, as the extra shows.
