Reverse Advent.
A miserable damp and grey start to the day which has only got worse. Now thoroughly wet with little opportunity for blips.
This morning we were at ATN Community Singing again and it was the first session of our Reverse Advent.
The idea is to give to those less fortunate and today we were asked to bring toiletries for a Food Bank in Bradford. Here are some of those items. More will be collected at the other 3/4 sessions this week and also the small items for Night Stop for the homeless have been boxed up elsewhere. Pretty good result I think.
In addition tomorrow we are singing at ‘Goldies Smile and Sing’ a dementia group that meets monthly at Eldwick Church. We sang there back in the summer and joined in with their other activities. Tomorrow is their Christmas Party and our collective groups are gifting them £900 that has been raised over the year. This will sustain their organisation for 12 months.
We just love going to sing each week but it’s great that we can give to others as well as enjoying ourselves.
Today we were practising the first half of our Christmas Concert taking place on the last Sunday before Christmas at Bingley Arts Centre but we have several more care home singing events in the next few weeks and more this weekend including another Christmas lights switch on in Bingley. Hope the weather is kind for the outdoor events!
