The Guild Chapel

While we were in the theatre last night our son in law took himself off for an evening tour of Stratford (including a ghost walk) which he enjoyed very much. This morning he wanted to have a look at the Guiildhall in daylight and we happened across this lovely little chapel close by.
The chapel has medieval wall paintings depicting the afterlife which had been covered over with layers of limewash during the reformation by John Shakespeare (Williams’s Dad!). Recently there has been a lot of conservation work done to reveal these paintings.
