Noisy evening

Firstly persistent gunshots when dark. Gyp stuck close to me.
Then sitting watching TV and lights came down field opposite and thought some monster coming straight into the room.

It was two huge tractors ploughing from 8:30pm until ?
Is it really necessary to do this so late.
