Close Thing

Whooooo! Another seven goal thriller with the nephew (and Cigs and smaller ciglette) though not at Hearts this time as they were too busy bringing Christmas cheer to Rugby Park. Anyway, despite the appalling conditions, a decent game was served up (twas Edinburgh City v Annan Athletic - a 3rd round Cup tie). And two Hearts stars of yesterday appeared in the yellow and black of the Dumfriesshire men. Darren Barr seen here, one of the heroes of the greatest Cup Final ever (May19 2012) - and scorer of the first goal on that occasion, and the legend that is Christian Nade. Legend for not dissimilar reasons.
Later, much less parochial entertainment: a Curzon film, Non-Fiction which I enjoyed very much. It’s pretty narrative heavy and it does seem that no-one at French dinner parties makes small talk, so perhaps (ahem) it’s not to everyone’s taste. But the best performance by Juliette Binoche for a long time. I wonder if she likes footy small talk?
