Carbon recycling.

First of the logs from the trees we planted in an open field in 1987. Having spent 32 years gathering the carbon, we now get to release it.  Maybe people shouldn't go on a flight until  after they have captured enough carbon to cover the amount they will release on their flight.

Of course, by then the world should be carbon neutral - i.e. all oil and gas wells shut off, coal mines closed and forest coverage preserved.  So aeroplanes will be powered by electricity drawn from wind and PV sources, and the planes will be built using power from the same sources.  And some wag calculated that in order to build all the wind turbines and PV cells that will be needed, we will need all the power produced from oil, coal and gas over the next 30 years with nothing to spare for current consumption purposes.
