ascending

another day of university visit with my daughter, this time Sheffield. Hadn't been back here for over 20 years and it has changed a lot; or maybe I just see it differently now, as I am not a student any more (wish I was!). 
Again I wished I could go, it seems that the parents are generally more enthusiastic and willing to talk to the staff, with their young adults in tow, looking around and not saying much. It all seems so exciting in hindsight, but as a young adult just out of school it can also be daunting. 
We had a nice coffee in the art centre, wondered round the winter garden which had  a wonderful exhibition of Sheffield photographic society. 
Then the fog descended and we made our way back home on a very atmospheric drive through snake pass.
